MineMuzak Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 3, 2026
Overview
MineMuzak is a music streaming client that connects exclusively to your self-hosted MineMuzak server.
We do not operate any centralized servers, and no user data is transmitted to MineMuzak or any third
party.
Data We Collect
MineMuzak collects and stores the following data on your device and your self-hosted server:
- Account Credentials - Your username and email address are provided during registration and stored on your self-hosted server. An authentication token is stored securely in your device's Keychain.
- Playback History - Recently played tracks are recorded on your self-hosted server to provide playback history functionality.
- Cached Music Files - Music and podcast files may be downloaded and cached locally on your device for offline playback.
- Server URL - The address of your self-hosted server is stored locally on your device.
How Your Data Is Used
- Account credentials are used solely for authentication with your self-hosted server.
- Playback history is used to display recently played tracks and restore queue state.
- Cached files are used to enable offline playback and reduce network usage.
- No data is used for advertising, analytics, tracking, or any purpose beyond the app's core functionality.
Data Sharing
MineMuzak does not share any data with third parties. All data remains on your device and your
self-hosted server. The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
Data Storage and Security
- Authentication tokens are stored in the iOS Keychain, Apple's secure credential storage system.
- Cached music files are stored in the app's local Documents directory on your device.
- Artwork cache is stored in the app's Caches directory and may be automatically purged by iOS when storage is low.
- All network communication uses HTTPS when connecting to remote servers. HTTP connections are permitted only for local network servers.
Data Retention and Deletion
- You can clear all cached music files at any time from the app's Profile settings.
- To delete your account and all associated server-side data (playback history, playlists, queue), contact your server administrator or use the server's administration interface.
- Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data, including cached files, authentication tokens, and server configuration.
Children's Privacy
MineMuzak does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
